The road to this moment has been quite a windy one. But alas, such is life.
When I first began to make jewelry (at the ripe age of 7) I had no idea that I was forming a brand - let alone starting a business! Not a damn clue. In fact, I'm not confident I could even use my seven-year-old-vocabulary to define what either of those two terms meant. Simply put - making jewelry was (and still is) my therapy. It is my creativity, and my 'me' time, my escapism of sorts. And through the years, it has morphed from a hobby to a company to a brand to a business, wherein I am able to further my passion for connecting with others and through which I am able to fuel connections between others.
Through the years, my aesthetic has evolved, my brand has been refined, and my look has matured. Once I gave myself the permission to personally change the lens through which I looked at my jewelry brand (i.e. from a hobby to a company), it was game on. With that came translating my vision through imagery, and inadvertently becoming the creative director of the brand.
While on set for my jewelry brand, I was more often than not approached by the respective photographer to have my picture taken.
And so begins #THEMARRINPROJECT a creative outlet for my
All my love. xx - Marrin
P.S. Below is one of my first shoots as both the model and creative director with the incredible photographer Akoni Lamparilya. Akoni - thank you for your constant support and for seeing my potential as the face of my brand. Not sure what I can do to repay you (aside from the name of of my first unborn child)... but if you think of anything, let me know ; )
